Jocelyne Melong
Jocelyne received her Bachelor of Arts degree, major in Psychology from Dalhousie University and her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is a Registered Counselling Therapist – Candidate (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT).
Jocelyne has experience working with culturally diverse youth, adults and adult seniors that have presented a range of life issues, stresses, and unique challenges. Jocelyne offers an eclectic practice that is individualized, integrative and adaptive to help clients grow towards a better sense of well-being. She has experience assessing client goals and expectations as well as developing a collaborative client-counsellor directed treatment plan. with short or long-term services, and is grounded in Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical behaviour and existential therapy as well as narrative techniques . She is also specialized in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for PTSD, complex trauma and sexualized violence.
