Jylian MacLeod
Jylian received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology/Sociology & Psychology from Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, N.S., and her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, from Yorkville University, Fredericton, NB. She is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and a Registered Counselling Therapist – Candidate (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT).
Jylian has worked with culturally diverse populations who have been affected by addiction, mental health disorders, and trauma. She has experience in providing therapeutic services for adolescents, adults, and couples. Jylian employs a client centered, solution-focused approach by using Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT) & Narrative techniques within her sessions to assist her clients in meeting their goals. Jylian has received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist her clients who have found traditional forms of therapy unproductive or unhelpful.
